Maramec Museum Open (Saturday and Sunday) starting in March.
The Maramec Museum offers engaging interactive exhibits that illuminate the natural and historical significance of this region. These exhibits showcase a diverse range of items, such as artifacts unearthed from the iron works, educational materials on Missouri’s wildlife, explanations of the science behind springs and the water cycle, detailed models depicting the iron works from the 1800s, captivating aquarium displays, and much more!
Completed in October 1971, the museum consisted of the current cultural history wing. At the time, there was a separate nature center located near the entrance to the historic drive.
The current nature addition was completed in 1999 and included the current entrance, exhibits, aquariums, education room, and bathrooms (previously located in the basement). Notably, the two aquariums within the nature addition boast capacities of approximately 650 gallons and 135 gallons. Within the museum, you’ll also find a well-curated shop offering Maramec Spring Park apparel, nature and educational themed toys and crafts, books, buckets of fish food for purchase, local craftsman’s work, collectibles, and more!
