We wanted to share some updates from the last couple of months and provide everyone with information as we get closer to opening day and the “on-season”. As many of you know, the park endured historic flooding in November 2024. The reception building/fee station/cafe was inundated with over 4 feet of flood water. After the waters receded we had a monumental task of cleaning and gutting the building (check out the photos below). Currently, we are working on a renovation plan; making the building more climate-resilient and allowing it to withstand future flooding. A full renovation means the building and cafe WILL NOT be ready by spring.

To still serve our customers, we are working on a temporary “fix” to keep the park operating (somewhat) normally. The following are some of the changes you will experience:
- Gate Shack – A temporary gate building has been added at the front of the reception building. This is where visitors will pay park entry fees. They can take credit/debit cards and cash at this building.
- Tag Cabin/Convenience Store – The park has procured a small cabin (see photos) that is located at the back of the reception building. This is where fishing permits and daily tags will be purchased. It will also include a small assortment of fishing gear, camping necessities, snacks, and souvenirs.
- Campground – The campground is and will be open, with the expanded camping area possibly being ready this spring. We do have a new campground reservation platform. Please check it out at www.camplife.com
- Cafe – in lieu of the cafe, we are seeking food trucks to be available on weekends and holidays through at least July. We hope to garner enough interest from food vendors to provide ample dining options for visitors and fishermen.
- TROUT FISHING/TROUT SEASON – Maramec Spring Park does not control nor make decisions about the trout or trout season. If you have questions about how the flood will impact the upcoming trout season, please direct your questions to the Missouri Department of Conservation at (573) 751-4115 (direct line to MDC headquarters in Jefferson City).
We hope this helps provide some information for our visitors as they make plans to visit our amazing park this year!
